get fall ready

Fall is my favorite season. I love the cool weather, the colors, scents and fashion. I like to get the season started on a fresh note. I will open up all the windows to air out the house and allow the brisk breeze to flow through. Then it’s time to clean up the entire house and put away all summer related decor until next season. Once all cleaned and decluttered, I get fall ready by bringing out my fall decor and decorating. Lighting new fall scented candles always makes this process even more fun. I will usually pick out a few pumpkins in white and orange for the outside front steps. Some years I am a little extra and buy mums and hay stacks for the outside as well.

Once the home is all taken care of its time to get myself fall ready! I will reorganize my closet by putting away all summer clothes and bringing out my autumn wardrobe. I love, love, love boots, sweaters, jeans, and hoodies! I make sure to reorganize my nail polishes and lipsticks by bringing forward all fall colors such as purples, browns and burgundies.

When I think of fall I think of fun and cozy. I am blessed to live in New England, so I always love to go for a drive and look at all the beautiful fall foliage while drinking a yummy cup of coffee. It’s always fun to see how other people decorate their homes for the season, it just gets me even more pumped that its fall and gives me fall inspiration! It’s always nice to go for a little walk to just feel refreshed and feel all the crunchy leaves beneath your feet. Since the nights become a lot cooler I like to snuggle up on the couch and watch a movie or read a book with a nice fire going. I also love sitting outside by the fire pit and listening to natures night time sounds. One of my all-time favorite things to do is sit on the swing outside, gaze up at the stars in aww of Gods beautiful creation and pray!

I also like to indulge in fall treats. I bake a yummy Oreo pumpkin cheesecake that is so so good. I also enjoy homemade apple pie, hot chocolate, smores and candy corn. Yes, I said candy corn… don’t judge me.

As the year is in its last quarter, I like to sit down and reevaluate by goals and progression of the year. I will reprioritize knowing that it is game time and I want to complete certain things before the year is up. I will reflect and write down everything I am grateful for and give thanks to God for his faithfulness in my life. I pray that He continues to direct my path and I submit all my plans to Him. The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over your life” Psalm 32:8.
