God uses broken people

We have all someway felt broken in our lives. Some of us still feel this way. We need to encourage each other and help each other grow. Help one another see that we can still achieve, grow, and move forward even in our brokenness. A beautiful picture can still be created from your life. All of our flaws and hurts add to the masterpiece created. Its art, its unique, it’s our story! God uses broken people!

I remember one day my son didn’t want to use his crayons to color a picture because they were all broken. In that moment I believe God taught me a lesson. I told my son that the crayons still work even though they were broken. I showed him he can still make a very nice picture using broken crayons. The real message here is that God can and will use us even in our brokenness. In fact, history shows us that’s when He creates some of His most powerful work!  He Is our creator and we are His unique masterpiece. Sometimes we struggle with wanting crisp, fresh brand new, out of the box crayons. But it’s those worn out, beat up, not so appealing crayons that can create better art in the end! They make the best stories!

God uses broken people, everyone has a purpose. Don’t feel hopeless because you are imperfect! Chin up! Throughout the bible God used flawed people all the time for His glory. Abraham and Sarah were old, became impatient with Gods promise to get Sarah pregnant with a son, and took matters into their own hands. Abraham got another woman pregnant as a result, instead of waiting on God! David had sex with another man’s wife, got her pregnant then had the man murdered to cover it all up! Moses was embarrassed about his speech problem and tried to get out of doing what God told him to do because of it. But Moses pleaded with the Lord, “Oh Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.” Then the Lord asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.” Exodus 4:10-12.

Those verses totally spoke to my heart and encouraged me! Be encouraged right now that God created you and will use you even in your brokenness. Now Go! God is with you, creating a masterpiece with your broken crayons.
