Things to Consider When Letting Go…

Letting go doesn’t mean you are giving up on or abandoning that person or situation. Letting go doesn’t mean you don’t love or care for them/it any longer. We can no longer cling to something or someone who doesn’t bring us peace. The most loving thing we can do is to fully and truly let go. Truly and fully hand it over to the Lord. Place it/them in the hands of the only one who can actually heal! That’s truly the most loving move!

You know how when you are crushing on someone really hard you send them the note marked “do you like me? Yes, No, Maybe”. You will do everything and anything to spend time with them. You lose sleep, sneak around, stay up late on the phone all night with them (even though you need to be up in 3 hours and take an exam). Yeah, you do dumb stuff just to spend that time with them. You’ll skip eating lunch on your break, skip a class, call out of work, tell a lie about where and who you are going to be with just to sneak extra time with them. You even run and go shave your legs really quick just to have the appearance of being perfect and flawless (mmhhmm you know its February and that hair was an extra layer of warmth). Now all of a sudden you have the extra time to pull out the razor? But you don’t make time for God!Continue reading

The Truth About Being a Christian

The truth about being a Christian is…I still mess up, I’m not perfect, I’m still a sinner. Getting saved wasn’t a magical potion to make my life rainbows and puppies. It didn’t all of a sudden take away every problem I had. I’m still going to go through things in life that are difficult and still have to fight battles. But there is a difference. The difference is I’m not going through it alone. God is guiding me through it and I can trust him leading me. He promises to never leave me alone, even if it feels like I am. I am still going to face temptation, but I just have to practice discipline and take Gods way out. God always provide a way out! No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability , but with the temptation he will provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it 1 Corinthians 10:13. The Godly may trip seven times, but they will get back up Proverbs 24:16Continue reading
