I’m pretty sure you can relate when I say that there have been some days at work that were not so great. Maybe you just had a rough day, it could have been super busy, maybe you didn’t get to take a lunch break or maybe you just weren’t feeling well. Whatever the reason, I get it because I’ve been there and man oh man it’s hard to stop complaining. This is something that I’ve been having to work on because although it may seem innocent, is it really?
I spent most of my day whining and complaining to God about how frustrated I was. I didn’t know what I was doing and didn’t want to do what I believe he told me to do (write/illustrate a children’s book). The last time I had drawn was in high school which was about 13 years ago. It’s been about 2 years since I believe he told me to do this and I still haven’t finished yet. I am always making up an excuse not to work on it honestly, I just feel clueless and overwhelmed so I procrastinate. I finally wrote the story almost a year ago, but boy am I dragging with the illustration part! I don’t know what I’m doing, and it seems like a lot of work. I feel scared, the sketches look ugly to me and I don’t know my style of drawing… these are all my thoughts, feelings and complaints to God. I’ve tried to pray and ask God for peace and guidance, after all I believe He is the one who told me to do it. It definitely wasn’t my idea to deal with this pressure while still working as a full-time nurse overnight and being a mom. What I needed was to shut up to hear from God!Continue reading
The truth about being a Christian is…I still mess up, I’m not perfect, I’m still a sinner. Getting saved wasn’t a magical potion to make my life rainbows and puppies. It didn’t all of a sudden take away every problem I had. I’m still going to go through things in life that are difficult and still have to fight battles. But there is a difference. The difference is I’m not going through it alone. God is guiding me through it and I can trust him leading me. He promises to never leave me alone, even if it feels like I am. I am still going to face temptation, but I just have to practice discipline and take Gods way out. God always provide a way out! No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability , but with the temptation he will provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it 1 Corinthians 10:13.
